Owners Jerald and Candi Hawkins believe in providing quality furniture built to last for generations. Since beginning their furniture business in 1987 they have come to rely on Amish-crafted furniture to accomplish that goal.

The Colorado natives moved to tiny Milton, Iowa in 1987 and started selling furniture. It was within this heavily Amish community that Jerald and Candi first discovered the genuinely exceptional craftsmanship of Amish furniture makers. Within five years they were selling the furniture crafted by their neighbors, and when they moved back to Colorado in July, 1999, they brought the Amish furniture with them.

The Hawkins family opened Black Carriage Furniture on North Avenue in Grand Junction, Colorado in 1999, introducing the Western Slope to the style and quality provided by Amish furniture craftsmen.  Then in the summer of 2003, they expanded to a new location at 2580 US Highway 6 & 50 with 8,500 square feet of space to showcase their unique furniture.

In a world of particle board and staples, Black Carriage Furniture continues to stand out from the crowd with heirloom quality pieces made of solid wood. Jerald and Candi invite you to experience Amish craftsmanship at its finest at Black Carriage Furniture.

Our specialty is solid hardwood furniture, handcrafted by caring hands in the homes and shops of our Amish craftsmen

Our craftsmen carefully build each piece the way you would if you made it yourself, with attention to all the details that transform furniture into heirlooms. We use only solid hardwoods, no particle board, with many woods to choose from such as oak, cherry, maple, and quarter-sawn white oak, as well as others. Our craftsmen believe in building quality products that are built to last for generations to come.

Our goal at Black Carriage Furniture is to provide you with the finest heirloom quality furniture for any room in your home or office, in many styles from country to elegant. No matter what your décor, we can help select a style that suits your needs. In addition, we offer our customers a relationship as solid and long-lasting as the furniture we sell. Complete customer satisfaction is our goal; that's why we feel our obligation to the customer is not over at the end of the sale.
